With Euro 2020 finally coming close after being postponed last year, BBC Sport have launched this new trailer for the EUFA Euro 2020 championships titled ‘Our Wait Is Over.’
The animated advert is set in a huge waiting room, big enough to fit all the qualifying teams of Europe. We see both fans and players waiting for the Euros to begin. England favourites Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling are first seen waiting as a woman is asleep snoring between them.
A group of Scotland fans sit in kilts, wearing Euro 96 kit (the last time the team made it to the Euros) while Gareth Bale passes the time in his Welsh kit, playing a spot of indoor golf.
We also see Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo working out on a treadmill as we hear crowd noise in the background which then morphs in to a song by The Chemical Brothers. More info below…
The trailer concludes with a voice-over saying “It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here. The Euros starts from 11th June across the BBC.”

The music in the Euro 2020 BBC Sport trailer advert is a song called ‘The Darkness That You Fear’ released this year by English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers.
Band member Tom Rowlands says that:
“The Darkness That You Fear” is a hopeful piece of music. When we found the combination of the different voices worked set to the flow of the music it made us feel optimistic, like it was something we wanted to share.
