National Lottery – Magic Number Song

The National Lottery have released this advert which highlights the many good causes that have benefited from the money raised over the past 25 years.

The National Lottery celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2019 wit this video. It shows the countless people and groups who have benefited from lottery funding. These include groups of singers, skateboarders, dancers, actors, cyclists, wheelchair and mobility scooter users and more. The commercial also bombards us with some staggering statistics such as 7 millionaires a week, and £30 million to good causes every week. “These are the magic numbers!” says the ad.

The music in the National Lottery Magic Number advert is a cover version of the 1988 song “Three Is The Magic Number” written by American vocalist and songwriter Bob Dorough. The song is more famously known as “The Magic Number” which was recorded and released as a single in 1990 by American hip hop trio De La Soul. However the song was originally recorded for the US TV show Schoolhouse Rock!
