This new Volvo XC60 advert for 2021 titled ‘The Smarter XC60’ features music by Justice. In the commercial viewers are shown the SUV’s various smart technology features suggesting that the car is “Like your smartphone but bigger” having “More brains inside and out”.
The advert highlights features such as a built-in Google assistant, smarter sound with concert hall mode, smart charging and smart parking with a 360 degree camera. The tech-packed car as smart features everywhere from the braking and safety systems to sensors and tyres. The advert concludes by saying “Basically smarter everything” ending with an XC60 at an electronic charge point.

The music in the 2021 Volvo XC60 advert is a song called ‘Genesis’ released in 2007 by French electro-music duo Justice consisting of Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay. The song is the first track on the band’s debut studio album ‘Cross’. The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album.

Justice’s song Genesis has featured in a few TV adverts in the past such as Budweiser’s ‘King of Beers’ ad, a BBC Sport promotion for Euro 2016 and a Channel 4 advert for Formula 1 coverage. The track also featured in a Levi 501 advert titled ‘Unbuttoned’ back in 2008.
