The music in the BMW i3 advert is a 1973 instrumental piece called “Also Sprach Zarathustra” by Brazilian musician Eumir Deodato. The song is a jazz-funk styled rendition of the introduction from Strauss composition. This rendition reached number two in the US Billboard top 100 singles chart and won the 1974 Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance.
