The Times and The Sunday Times – Politics Tamed

This comical yet arguably timely advert by The Times features a house of commons full of animals. The scene which resembles an out of control zoo features all manor of animals including dogs, sheep, goats, foxes meerkats, hyenas , emus, vultures, rats, snakes, penguins, a crocodile, a chameleon and even a Lion accompanied by a Unicorn! Given the state of UK politics in 2019, to some this could not be a truer representation.

The music in the advert

Music: If I Could Talk To The Animals | Artist: Rex Harrison

The orchestral music used in the background of the advert is taken from the song (If I Could) Talk To The Animals written by British composer Leslie Bricusse for the 1967 film Doctor Dolittle. The song was performed for the film by English actor Rex Harrison. The version in the ad has an unidentified voice over.
