In this advert by HSBC starring Richard Ayoade, the high street bank believe that “no man, or woman, is an island” and that “the people, communities and businesses of the UK all thrive more when they’re connected to something bigger”. The music in the advert is a piece from Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations namely Variation IX “Nimrod”. They were all composed between October 1898 and February 1899.
