Visit Iceland have launched this ne advert titled “Looks Like You Need An Adventure” which encourages people to book a slot at a pop-up shop in Reykavik. This is where their old sweatpants can be remade in to a pair of hiking boots.
The ad features various adventurers that have been stuck at home in lock-down. They are then freed to enjoy the spectacular views, sights and sounds of Iceland while also having the chance to turn their sweatpants in to boots!
Although it appears to be tongue-in-cheek, this campaign it real. The boots will be ‘sustainably made with guilt-free vegan materials. The transformation will be carried out at a pop-up on Rainbow Street in downtown Reykjavik throughout July, where tired sweatpants will be re-engineered into one-of-a-kind Sweatpant Boots – for free.
The offer is bookable through sweatpantboots.com and is open to anyone with a valid plane ticket showing their arrival in green-listed Iceland from June 24 onwards.

The music in the new 2021 Visit Iceland advert is a song called “Sweatpant Boots” recorded especially for the campaign by Icelandic rapper Cell7.
As far as we know the song has not been released commercially and we don’t see a full track on YouTube. However this could change. Watch this space..
