Cadbury’s 2015 Christmas advert brought festive fun to life with a spectacular display of 24 lorries forming a giant advent calendar. Each lorry was filled with a mountain of chocolate and treats, loaded by a flurry of busy forklift trucks.

The lorries then travelled across the UK, arriving at 24 different locations to open daily, spreading joy and festive cheer to communities nationwide. The campaign, tagged #Cadvent, captured the excitement and anticipation of the holiday season while highlighting Cadbury’s playful and imaginative brand personality. The combination of large-scale visuals, whimsical action, and cheerful pacing made it one of Cadbury’s standout Christmas adverts of the year.

Song: March of the Thunderbirds
Artist: Gerry Anderson
Album:
Released: 1965

The advert featured the iconic theme tune from the British science fiction television series Thunderbirds, composed by Barry Gray in collaboration with producer Gerry Anderson. Known for its dramatic, brassy fanfare and instantly recognisable melody, the track has been a cultural touchstone since its debut in the 1960s.

Its use in the Cadbury Christmas advert added a sense of adventure, energy, and fun, perfectly complementing the bustling lorries and festive chaos. The theme has inspired numerous covers and adaptations over the decades, and its inclusion here tapped into a sense of nostalgia while giving the commercial a lively, cinematic feel.
